Here are some options for you:
¨ Check your class notes—
¨ We never have homework on topics that we haven’t already covered in class!
¨ Check the textbook website for their help files
¨ After each topic listed on this web site you should see an active link posted for the publisher’s site
¨ If you don’t see a link then type in the URL http://go.hrw.com
¨ Each section of the book is numbered (like 1-8)
¨ When you open up the publisher’s web site (Holt), type in the section number as follows:
¨ Type hr7
¨ Type a space
¨ Type the section like 1-5
¨ So it looks like this hr7 1-5
¨ This will open up the specific topic you want help with
¨ You can review 3 types of examples and several videos for each section in our text book

The Rules to Know for All 8th Graders!!!
Arithmetic with Real Numbers
. . . U need 2 memorize these rules 4 signed numbers
¨ Addition
¨ Same Signs = just add the numbers and keep that sign
¨ Different Signs = subtract and take the sign of the greater number (Greater absolute value)
¨ Subtraction
¨ Add the opposite … or,
¨ Change the minus to a plus, change the sign of the next number, and then use your addition rule
¨ Multiplication
¨ Multiply as usual, then same signs = positive answer or different signs = negative answer
¨ Multiplying a series of #s … use the Even / Odd Rule
¨ Multiply all of the numbers
¨ Count up the negative signs in the example
¨ Even # of negative signs = positive answer
¨ Odd # of negative signs = negative answer
¨ Division
¨ Divide as usual, then same signs = positive answer or different signs = negative answer
